The Unseen Path Silar is a world under Earth, where immortality was magically introduced centuries ago. With all the immortals living there, Silar lost resources and the people were forced to find other worlds to inhabit. When they moved to a new world, they tried to blend in and sometimes even raised their children in the ways of that new world, waiting until puberty to introduce the children to the Paths. Each Silian must choose a Path to follow, Good or Chaotic, there is no middle ground Good Path: The immortals who follow the Good Path vowed to help any and all in need. The Council of Elders helps them stay on the Good Path and they provide guidance for new members coming into their powers. Chaotic Path: The immortals following this Path have no regard for others. They want to take over all the worlds and make mortals their slaves while undermining the Good Path followers. Most mortals of Earth know nothing of Silar, but that could change as a war between the two Paths of Silar is fast approaching. The saviors of Earth and Silar are in the dark, yet on the cusp of being awakened to a whole new world. .
“D oes this seem a little too easy to you?” Molli whispered to Matt. He shook his head and went toward the first door on their right, motioning for Molli to try the other doors. He had to save Salvador, trap or not. What kind of father kidnapped his son for power? Hell, what kind of man would put a death spell on his son’s lover? “Matt, wait. You and Sal are going to be mates, right?” Matt nodded. His sister continued, “See if you can sense him. I’m not sure how, but I’ll try to give you a power boost. You game?” Molli was so strong. She’d been through a lot in the last twenty-four hours and here she stood ready to help him save the man he loved. Matt reached over and grasped Molli’s hand. Closing his eyes, he pictured Sal’s face in his mind—his dark brown eyes, black hair and smile that made Matt tingle. Then a wave of terror washed over him. It didn’t come from him. He paused. It was Sal! I’m here, babe, hang tight. He hoped Sal heard his mental assurance. “He’s here, Mol, in that room.” Matt threw open the third door. 1 .
Jambrea Jo Jones Sal sat tied to a chair, duct tape over his mouth “What the fuck…” Matt wanted to run and comfort the man who’d come to mean everything to him, but something stopped him. A force he couldn’t see. The bullet he did see. Before Matt could flinch, it hit an invisible barrier and bounced to the floor. The men in the room started toward him. They spoke, but Matt couldn’t hear what they were saying. Suddenly, he felt the restraining force lift and the men fell to the ground in front of him. Matt didn’t have time to worry about them. He rushed to Sal. Kneeling in front of him, he hugged Sal tightly before he leaned back to take the tape from his lover’s mouth. “I’m so sorry,” he repeated over and over. He kissed every inch of Sal he could reach as he untied him. “Matt, we don’t have time for that here. Let’s leave before these guys come to their senses,” Molli said. Matt had been so focused on Sal he hadn’t seen Molli and her mate, Decklin, enter. Matt’s eyes went wide as the werewolf that terrorized them on the trip to rescue Sal, charged into the room and trapped Decklin on the floor, hovering over him. Seeing the thing in the car didn’t compare to up close and personal. “Matt, get Salvador to the car.” 2 .
Unwinding Path “But, Mol—” “I mean now, Matt. Run!” No way would he let his sister battle on her own. He hurried to release Sal, amazed at the power Molli emitted. Before he could finish undoing Sal’s bindings, she dispatched the wolf. How the hell had she taken care of him so quickly? “It’s okay, honey, you’ve used a lot of power and you’re drained. You’ll feel better after we get out of here.” Decklin wrapped his arms around Molli. “You ready to leave before anything else happens?” “Yes, please. But I don’t think I can move.” “Don’t worry about that. Your brother can help.” “My brother?” Molli turned and her puzzled gaze met Matt’s. “You didn’t really think I would leave you here by yourself, did you, sis?” He grinned at her. “You should have listened to me, you idiot.” “Love you, too, Molli. Sal, why don’t you help her and I’ll get Decklin.” Matt looked at Sal and worried over the fact that his lover didn’t speak as he helped Molli out of the warehouse and into the car. Deep breath, take it slow. He’ll be fine. “Where to now?” Matt asked as he settled into the driver’s seat. “Go to my house. We’ll be safe there for a little 3 .
Jambrea Jo Jones while. I have protection spells around the place. We might have to go elsewhere if things get too hot,” Decklin said. “I am so sorry. This is all my fault.” Salvador sighed. Matt placed a hand on Sal’s thigh as he drove off. “This is not your fault. Any of this. If it’s anyone’s, it’s mine. I should have left you alone. It would kill me if anything happened to you. We need to place the blame where it belongs, on your father’s shoulders. He kept you from me.” He reached for Sal’s hand and brought it to his mouth for a kiss. He wanted to get his man alone to comfort him, they’d been apart too long. “I need you, Matt.” Sal closed the distance between them and snuggled into his side. Matt sent up thanks that Decklin’s car had bench seats. “Soon, we’re almost at Deck’s, and then you’re mine.” They sped along in silence. Matt glanced over at Sal, worried at his lack of response. “Always. I’ll always be yours, Matt. No matter what my dad says, we are meant to be one.” Matt felt torn between tears and lust. He forced himself to calm down and not let Sal’s voice affect him. It was his turn to speak from the heart. He struggled with his words. “You are the other half of me.” He paused. “Know that, Sal. I can’t be without you anymore. When we get to Deck’s, 4 .
